May 2019 Update
The Austin Silva Memorial Fund has awarded $15,000 for scholarships to students of Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, Texas in 2019. Austin was a great student and loved being a Wildcat! We're thankful for all the organizations and residents who have so generously contributed to this fund!
The Austin Silva Memorial Fund made a gift of $1,000 to Lake Highlands Young Life. We're thankful for the way Young Life serves our community. Austin enjoyed going Frontier in 2016 with his classmates where they drew closer in their faith and developed strong relational bonds.
The Austin Silva Memorial Fund made a gifts of $13,000 to Camp Barnabas. Austin was able to serve there along with many other teenagers from Watermark Community Church in Dallas in recent years. Here was scheduled to serve there again in June 2017, but was called home to be with the Lord just days before. Our family strongly believes in the mission of Camp Barnabas, and we are grateful for the ways that our family has been given the opportunity to serve there. We’re also thankful his cousin, Jack Pezanosky, was able to come for the first time as a camper in 2018. Our family has served there as well, and we look forward to returning in the coming years.
The Austin Silva Memorial Fund made a gift of $14,000 to Mission of Hope-Haiti. Austin was able to serve with his dad at Mission of Hope in 2011 on a short term discipleship trip. He was scheduled to serve there again, along with many other high schoolers from Watermark Community Church in July 2017, but was called home to be with the Lord just weeks before. Our family strongly believes in the heart of Mission of Hope-Haiti, and we are grateful for the ways that our family has been given the opportunity to serve there on 4 prior trips. Our daughter, Samantha was able to participate in a short term trip with a larger group of high schoolers from Watermark in January 2019. We’ll continue praying for the people of Haiti.
